Two Cents: Beauty MNL Mini Haul

imageTwo cents is a beauty blog series that doles out initial thoughts on newly-purchased products.

Surprise, surprise, it’s not all makeup! In fact, most of the items that I have picked out are skin care.

I have shopped at BeautyMNL twice now, and both experiences are excellent. The products are reasonably priced and they’re shipped the next day. It’s no wonder why I keep browsing through their website *greedy grin* Now, I’m promising Mario that I’m just waiting for two other shipments and I’m going on a ban again, maybe until Christmas… or longer.

Here are the items that I have purchased. And I’m very excited about them because I have never encountered any of these before.

City Color Be Matte Blush in Guava (PhP 300)
I have been eyeing a matte blush for quite some time now, and after reading good reviews of this, I finally succumbed. It’s nice to note that Beauty MNL has the cheapest price for this blush (for the non pre-ordered category).

I have worn this last Sunday and it gave me nice, flushed cheeks that don’t look overdone. It has a bit of brown in it so it also kind of gave off a contoured look when applied to the proper areas of the face. I will do a full review on this as soon as I have the time.

Skinlite Collagen Eye Zone Mask (PhP 100)
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this package has 30 sheets of mask in it. Talk about the good side of not entirely reading product labels 😀

I tried a pair on a weekend and found out that 1) it stings a litol tiny bit upon application but 2) it’s very easy to use with the nifty resealable pack.

Baroness Vitamin C Mask (PhP 75)
It promises to brighten, regenerate, and hydrate skin. It heals, reduce inflammation and blemishes, leaving skin looking nourished, brighter and rejuvenated. It’s nice to note that the mask itself isn’t too big or too elongated — just the right size for an average-size and -shaped face.

Maybelline Volum’ Express Hypercurl Mascara (PhP 199)
This was on sale and I needed a new mascara because my current one is running out — talk about good timing!

Bedhead/Tigi Dirty Secret Dry Shampoo (PhP 975)
I have been wanting to know what the fuss is all about dry shampoos. And being that Batiste is not available locally (and instantly), I opted to try something from this brand.

Last Thursday, I put my hair up in a bun to attempt to make my hair wavy. And then Friday morning, I skipped washing my hair and sprayed this on my roots. It’s not powdery, it doesn’t have color or stain, and it smells good. It does untangle my hair, gives it volume and removes greasiness, just as it claims. But the scent is not long-lasting nor does it hold up my waves nor does it smoothen my hair. But iz foine, I’m content with this for now.

Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream 15ml (PhP 252)
I know it has snail secretion and it doesn’t freak me out because people have put weirder stuff on their faces for the sake of beauty. What gravitated me towards this item is that 1) it’s Korean and they’re known for youthful skin and 2) it’s pretty inexpensive for an eye cream. I have been using my L’oreal Revitalift something eye cream and it does work but I want to look for a cheaper alternative. So as soon as that runs out, I’m going to try this bebe out. And maybe write a review. Maybe.

Daz it! Am done! (MannyMUA‘s accent is infectious halp) What’s new with you? It doesn’t have to be beauty-related, it can be anything — books, food, series — just wanted to know so I can maybe pick off your brain! 🙂
